In the hustle and bustle of daily life, it is easy to forget to drink water regularly. This usually results in either:
- Trying to catch up by drinking a lot in a short space of time, or
- Not drinking enough
The best way to drink water each day is to drink regularly and spread your consumption throughout the day. WaterMinder reminders help you do this.
They appear on your phone's lock screen and are accompanied by an unobtrusive sound to let you know that there is a notification from the app. They are designed to remind you to take a few minutes to have a drink of water.

Reminder Types Explained
WaterMinder has three types of reminders. The Reminder Type you select determines when you receive reminders and how you can change the settings. The three Reminder Types are:
- Static
- Interval
- Water Level
Static Reminder Type
The static Reminder Type is the default setting. It lets you specify when you will receive a reminder to drink some water. There are default reminders (8 am, 9.30 am, 11 am etc) that you can toggle on and off. You can also set custom reminders at times that suit your requirements.
Interval Reminder Type
When you select the interval Reminder Type, you will receive reminders to drink water at set interval periods. The default settings are for the reminders to start at 8 am and end at 7 pm. The default interval is 60 minutes. In other words, between eight in the morning and seven in the evening, WaterMinder will remind you to drink water once every 60 minutes. Of course, these settings can be changed to suit your preferences.
Water Level Reminder Type
The Water Level Reminder Type breaks up your daily goal into time periods. For example:
- 15% of the daily goal by 8 am
- 30% by 9.30 am
- 40% by 11 am
- 50% by 12.30 pm
- 60% by 2 pm
- 75% by 3.30 pm
- 90% by 5.30 pm
- 100 % 7pm
If you have had enough water to drink by the specified time, the reminders will stop until the next time period. For example, if you have reached 30% of your daily goal by 8.30 in the morning, you will stop receiving reminders until 9.30 when the next time period starts.
